Mohamad Nizam Bin Abdul Ghani obtained his Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang in 1994. After completing internship at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kelantan (HUSM) in 1995, he was registered as a pharmacist with the Malaysian Pharmacy Board.

He practiced in a diverse range of community pharmacy settings, namely Pharmacare Medicine Shoppe, Materia Medica Pharmacy, Bintulu Pharmacy and 51 Avenue Pharmacy,  before eventually deciding to jump into the academic field.

Upon gaining the master degree in 2009, he began teaching at the Management and Science University (MSU), Shah Alam, until present.
