Service-Based Clinical Community Pharmacy (SBCCP)
Service-Based Clinical Community Pharmacy (SBCCP)
Serviced-Based Clinical Community Pharmacists (SBCCPs) differs from Product-Based Community Pharmacists (PBCP), whereby being frontliners in the primary healthcare setting, they are also termed as “Pharmacy Practitioners” practicing in a Government accredited pharmacy premise to provide patient-centric clinical services, guided by the concept of pharmaceutical care and cognitive pharmaceutical services, and focusses on the concept of medication safety, patients’ safety, rights and accountability. SBCCPs being the “guardians of medicines” are experts in medication management and provide reviews on medication adherence and compliance. The concept of SBCCP will elevate the actual role of the pharmacists in the eyes of the general public from a “Product seller” to a reliable “Pharmacist Practitioner”. Also, by implementing the SBCCP concept, the income generation has switched from Dynamic Pricing that involves discounts and bargains to Fixed Pricing. This concept has also introduced professional fees for the Practicing Pharmacists.
